The Fourth S of Beta Sig: Sports

” Every year since we've been back, Delta Chapter has had strong participation in UNL intramurals. If the university offers the sport, we play it. Flag-football, basketball, broomball, and many more, Delta Chapter encourages every member to give every sport a shot and even welcomes friends to play on the fraternity team. While the competition is important, the main focus of athletics is to have fun and stay in shape, a key part of being a healthy adult.

”
Every year at Beta Sig's national convention, the chapter has a strong showing in the fraternity basketball tournament. It seems year after year we get better. Maybe someday we'll soon be as good as the Alum team!

Where Da' Party At?

” After a hard week at school, every student has one thing on his mind: the weekend. At UNL, there is always something happening on the weekend. In Beta Sig, we leave social ideas in the hands of the members. Whether it be a small get-together at someone's house or heading into a large party, the main thing we want is to just have fun, relax, and take a break from school for as long as possible.

” Some common social events include poker nights (winner gets free pizza), going down to the Rec Center to shoot some hoops, heading out to the Grand to catch a new flick, Buffalo Wild Wings, camping trips, and (obviously) parties.

Co-Ed activities are also always enjoyed.

While what an individual chooses to do with his own time is a personal choice, for safety concerns, alcohol is not provided by the fraternity at any official event.

Road Warriors

” At least once every semester, Delta Chapter crams all its members into a few packed vehicles and hits the road. In the past, the chapter has made trips to other chapters (usually in Kansas, Missouri, or Iowa), to Colorado, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Omaha. Generally, the best experiences on these trips come from the unexpected events. Ask any member about the road trips and they're sure to tell you plenty of stories.

Formalities

” Delta Chapter has also enjoyed formal events with some lovely Co-Eds. The Annual Beta Sig Jig is always a good night! The men set up a dinner and dance, invite the ladies, and everyone enjoys a fun night.
